The Forum Rules!

The Forum Rules:
- We have made these forums to communicate with one another besides on the chat. The chat only has one room and that is the Great Hall
- Each house has its own forum. It is only the pupils of the house in questioning that can post on it.
- Use your imagination when writing on the forums. The more describing you make the surroundings the more fun it is for the other pupils to read and respond to.
- Writings on the forums should always be in dative form: “Nathguyn took her bag”. Not: “Natguyn takes her bag.
- It is not allowed to make private conversations. The forums on the grounds are for everybody on the school or at least for everybody in your house.
- Do not take up space in the forum by posting “Be right back – eating” etc. Do not write these messages in the ///OOG: function (Out Of Game). This is only for reminders from the staff. If you’re for whatever reason is leaving the forum, send an owl to the persons you were having a conversation with.
- Teachers, teacher’s assistants, head girls/boys and prefects are not allowed to write on the forum connected to the opposite sex’s dormitory. - It is the job of the prefects to maintain order in the dormitories, not the teachers or teacher’s assistants.
- Small wizard duels are allowed, but keep in mind that the Unforgivable Curses are banned. Do not duel to hurt the opponent. Duelling is merely for practise. Remember that 1st year student only have a limited knowledge of spells. You do not know complicated spells. Use the incantations and spells that would be possible as a 1st, 2nd, 3rd (and so on) student.
- On the forums you can only control yourself. You do not have the power over other pupils' actions. E.g. “Natguyn saw Jessy rip the book to pieces”, unless Jessy had posted the action earlier.
- The forums of Hogwarts can be found in the common rooms, the dormitories, the quidditch field, The 3 Broomsticks, Hog’s Head, the Lake and the Great Hall. Please, keep the conversations to the forum you are writing on. Do not write e.g.: “Nathguyn looked around in the Great Hall. Nothing happened there, so she ran up the stairs to the girls’ dormitory where she discovered a letter from her owl. She saw Missundra sitting on her bed crying.”
- Main subject: Please create an acceptable heading for your posting. We will not tolerate “bsnlkehsg”, “booh”, “ladidadida” etc. as headings.
- Please keep the content fairly realistic – do not over-dramatize the subjects. No one will be eaten by dragons, be the son/daughter of Voldemort or kill muggle-born pupils.
- Pets: It is allowed include pets in your post on a forum, but only pets that you are allowed to bring to Hogwarts: Cats, rats, owls and toads.
- Small duels and quarrels are allowed. Bigger fight will cost points. Pillow fights and such are of course allowed as long as no one gets hurt.
- Do not post links on the forums.
- Do not start a thread if there is already one of the same subjects.
- When you do make a new thread, please inform your fellow students of time, place, weather and surrounds. You do not have to add time, place, weather and surroundings when relying to a thread.

We hope you understand these rules. If you are in doubt or have any questions please contact the staff.

Regards the Potterteam.
